Meet a Bear Monday

Hello Bear Lovers...
I almost forgot that this is
Monday....I have been busy
working in the yard today
crafting.  The time has just
flown by this weekend.  On
to Meet a Bear Monday,
tonight I would like for you to
meet one of my patriotic Boyd's
bears, "Libearty C. Star"...
She is 10" tall and is dressed in
a navy blue romper with stars.
Across the bodice of her romper
are 3 embroidered red stars.
She is also wearing a hair bow with
a button, that matches her outfit.
What a wonderful outfit to wear,
out to play, on Memorial Day!

I hope you all had a great time
this weekend....

I went to some antique malls and
found a lot of great stuff, that I
will share with you, next time.

Thanks for stopping by....

I want to wish you all a
Happy Memorial Day weekend!

Let's take the time to honor those
fallen soldiers, who served in our military,
and so bravely fought for our freedom.

Go put a flag on a soldier's grave....I wish
I could put one on my Dad's grave, but I
am just too far away.

I hope you all stay safe!

What Ya Working On Wednesday

Hello everyone, I have been puttering
around with some of the things I have
gotten and I can't decide which way
I want to display this candle and
wreath that I won from American
Girl Primitives....

In this wooden bowl I got the other day,

Or in this retangle thing....I have to
tell ya that this candle smells so good!

So, what do you think?  I was thinking
maybe a smaller brown bowl, might look
better and I think I have just the thing.

I found it and I put it on this little stool
that I bought, Monday....I don't know if
I like it, I think the stool is a little tall
for being on the table, what do ya all
think?  I think I will put the stool some
where else and leave the bowl on the
table top....I put the little bird nest, that
came with the candle and wreath, on
my old kitchen scale that I showed you
all, awhile back.  I have more treasures
to show you next time.  I was going to
mention to my hubby that we need to
quit buying stuff, since we have so much.
Shhhh, don't tell him that I said that,
he wants to go to one of my favorite
antique malls, this weekend!

Hope all is well with y'all and you
are staying cool!

Until next time, friends....

Meet a Bear Monday

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Good Evening Bear Lovers...

It's time for "Meet a Bear Monday"
I will be showing patriotic bears for
the next several weeks, so if you like
the good ole red, white, and blue, then
you are in for a treat.   Tonight I have
a 20" Bailey to show you all, she is a
display bear for shops.  I don't know if
all the shops were able to have her, or
not.  Anyway, she is wearing a cream
colored, knitted hat with a big red bow
with gold stars on her head which
matches her blouse. Under her little navy
blue jumper, she is wearing an underskirt
with white lace trim along the hemline.
Bailey is very patriotic, she loves to carry
a flag to the Memorial Day festivities!
She even has stars on her navy blue
bloomers!  She is made with armeture in
her arms and legs, that make them
poseable.

A close up so you can see her eyes...

I have this same Bailey in a small size,
which she usually is, 8" and her beau,
Edmund.  I have a lot of patriotic ones,
so come back again for a peek.

I found the neatest little stool at an
antique mall, today.....I will post it soon,
along with some treasures I found at the
fleamarket over the weekend.

I hope you all have a great week!

Sky Picture

Hello Friends, I thought I would show
you a sky picture this time.  I took this
while on a plane, I believe it was on
the way to Michigan....The sun was
right behind a layer of clouds,
which made a great picture....I hope
you like it, next time I share an out
door picture, it will be a flower.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Until next time~

Tipsy Thursday

Hello Blogging Buddies....
Today, I have a tip for you on
lettuce....I do this when I think
about it.  I take my head of
lettuce and I wrap it with a damp
paper towel and put it in a gallon
size ziploc bag.  This keeps in the
moisture and the lettuce stays
crisper and lasts longer.

Give it a try....

Thanks for stopping by and I
hope you all have a great
weekend.

Until next time...

More Treasures

Hello Prim Friends.....I thought you might
like to see some of the things I got while I
was gone....I got the penny rug plate and
the colored wooden bowl at a sale raising
money for a mission.  I got the churn at a
GW store and the handle in it is actually
a masher....It was only $3.99 and I was
glad to find it since I had been looking for
one....The plain wooden bowl, I got in an
antique mall, I think it was $10, but they
are hard to find, so I didn't mind paying
that for it.  I got some other items that I am
not going to show, because it will be in my
next give away!  My first blogiversary is the
end of May, but I didn't post until July 2nd,
so that is when I will have another give away!
So, watch for that!  I will post the items in
some time in June.

I have been checking out the TX snakes and
that snake that I posted was either a Prairie
King snake or a TX rat snake....Neither one
is poisonous, thank goodness.....Now, I need
to take the pics out of my computer so I don't
see them every time I look in my saved stuff...
They give me the willies!

Hope ya'll are having a great week!

Until next time~

Meet a Bear Monday

Good Evening....I know it is late,
but I wanted to post this bear
before I hit the sack for the night.
She is a Boyd's bear, 16" tall and
wearing a red, white and blue plaid
dress. Her name is Sherie B. Bearican
and she is holding baby, Cliff...Under
her cute little dress, she is wearing
navy blue bloomers....She just loves
to wear bows in her hair to match her
dresses, and of course, she needs a red
sweater to keep her warm on chilly
evenings.

I have a few of the Bearican family, but I
think, I will start posting some of my
bears dressed in patriotic outfits....

Thanks for stopping by!

What a Week!

Hello Blogging Buddies.....I thought I'd
try to muster up some energy for a post
to let ya all know what has been going on
with me, this past week.  We went to Texas
to replace the roof on the porch of our
house.  It was our living room for a long
time, but we weren't using that part of
the house, because we really don't need
that much room now.  Anyway, I have
spent more time on the roof the last
week, than I wanted to! I helped with
rafters, nailed decking down, nailed
roofing felt and roofing, used more
roof cement than I ever want to see again!
There was supposed to be a 20% chance
of rain for one day, when we left here on
Friday.  Well, on Sunday, after 1/3 of the
roof was missing, we were having lunch
and looked through the door way and it
was raining in my house!  It didn't rain
much, though, good thing! I am not going
into the roofing business I can tell ya
that!  I had been on the roof for
quite awhile and I went down to get
lunch, or something......We had a tarp
folded back on the peak of the house, that
we had used earlier, because of the rain,
so hubby took it off while I was
down off the roof, and look what
came out from under it!  We had been
sitting near that tarp on the edge of the
roof a little bit before that!  I was a good
thing that I wasn't up there, because I
probably would have levitated right
off the roof!  I hate snakes!!!  We had tools
up there and so hubby whacked him with
a crow bar!  It is a wonder that he got me
me back up there to work!  I told him that
this is the last time I am working on a roof!
I spent several hours on it, just on Thursday.
That is enough for me!

I just looked up some snakes and I think it
was a non poisonous snake, but now he is
just a good snake.  Because I always say...
"The only good snake is a dead snake!"
So, this is how I spent my Mother's Day
and the rest of the week!  My friend and
neighbor grilled us some burgers and
sausages on Mother's Day, after we quit
for the day and even gave me a nice card
and a couple gifts!  She is a sweetie!

I will post a bear tomorrow night....

Hibiscus

Hello Prim Friends....
~*~*~*~*~*~
I have been going through some of my
pictures and I came across this Hibiscus
that I had in Texas.....It was called the
Southern Belle or the Dinner Plate
Hibiscus because the blooms were
 9" or 10" across....It liked more sun
than it was getting, after the trees grew.
So, we moved it and then it died....
I was sure sad about that, I haven't seen
one of them, since.

Well, I hope you all are having a great
week!

Until next time...

Meet a Bear Monday

Meet a Bear Monday
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Hello Bear Lovers...

It is time to meet another bear!
Today, I want you to meet Heather
and baby Tristan.  They are Boyd's
bears and were out for Mother's Day.
I can't remember if my son bought
this one, or not....I think I did...She
is wearing the cutest print dress for
Spring, with bloomers that match the
blue trim on her dress. Her straw
hat is adorned with a pink butterfly
attached to the bow on a blue hat
band.

She looks like she needs to comb her hair!

I hope you all had a great Mother's Day!

Until next time..

Sunflower

Hello Blogging Buddies....
Today, I thought I would share this
picture with you, that I took of a sun
flower that came up in our flower bed
in Texas, a few years ago.  Isn't it just
beautiful?   I took this picture with my
other digital camera, that was a 2.0...
It turned out pretty good, though....
Feel free to right click on it and you
can use it as wallpaper on your screen.

I hope you are all enjoying your day!

Until next time...

Garage Sale Finds

Hello everyone, I hope you are all having
a great week!  I said on my
last post that I would share with you
all what I got over the weekend at the
garage sales.  They were having a bunch
of them in one town, so after the storms
went through, off we went in search of
some treasures!  There was an estate sale
going on, outside of the town and we got
some of the things there.  They were the
most expensive of all of it, of course.  I got
the two rolling pins and the big cutting
board, there.....The marble rolling pin was
$8 and the wooden one was $2 and the
cutting board (which is very heavy)was $3,
All the rest totaled $7.25...
The little mister that you put in a bottle
to mist your clothes, was the 25 cent buy...
I need to find an old bottle, in some of my
stuff, for it and put it in the laundry room.
I got the little bibs to hang in the laundry
room, also....I thought I would hang a red
hankie around the top of them.  The cutting
board is butcher block and needs some
sanding and cleaning....I bought a little
ladder from a bunk bed, at a resale shop,
for covering the ceiling light in the kitchen,
I got it home and it isn't long enough, so we
will have to modify it and I am going to hang
the copper collander and my old graters on
it....(Oh hubby, you need to find some wood
and get out the saw.)
So, everything on the table, except for the
lamp came to $20.25.....pretty good haul,
I would say!   The little cabinet has shelves
in it and I am going to put it on the jackson
press were my toys are and put some of the
toys in it.  My hubby says that my bears have
more toys than he had when he was a kid!

I want to do some changing around here, I am
wanting to change the living room all around,
that will involve moving a lot of heavy
furniture and a lot of books.....
Hubby offered a couple weeks ago and then
wasn't sure he wanted to get himself in all
that work....I have other
plans, I want to get some paint for the
kitchen cupboards, they are all white, the
trim in almost the whole house is white. I
want some color, I can't decide, I want red,
but then we are planning on selling this
house in a few years and I might not want
to repaint them....
My hubby brought me home a funny out of
the paper the other day....It was Hi and Lois..
Lois is asking Hi "How long do you think it
would take to repaint this kitchen?"  He says
"About 3 hours to paint....and about 3 months
 to decide on the color."
Yup, that about sums it up!  I had swatches
taped to the bedroom wall for months and I
got tired of them and took them down....
Well, it was cold and I don't paint in
 the winter!
Is that a good enough excuse???   My
friend thinks I am not happy unless I am
tearing something up and re-doing it!  I
like change, hubby doesn't care, but he
likes it when I get done....
Well, that is enough rambling for now, I
need to figure out where to put all those
treasures, do a load of laundry, wash some
dishes and make a rice bag for a friend....

Until next time...

Meet a Bear Monday

Meet A Bear Monday

~*~*~*~*

Hello, Bear Lovers, it is time to meet
another bear....This one is a Boyd's bear
and she is 16" I believe, and her name is
Delta.  She is an older bear from the 90's.
That was back when the dealers were
supposed to write their name and number
on their tags....Her name and number aren't
on her tag, but I am sure of her name.
She is wearing a red/cream gingham
checked dress with a muslin collar and
trim on her dress....Under her dress, she
is wearing muslin pantaloons and on her
head, she is sporting a straw hat with a
red carnation.  She is all dressed to meet
her BFF for tea, but she has been waiting
and waiting....

Her tag is tucked in the front of
her dress.

She looks kinda sad, doesn't she?

Come on back soon, I will be posting
the great stuff I got at some garage sales
over the weekend!  I got a huge butcher
block cutting board, copper collander,
wooden boxes, rolling pins and more.

Until next time...
