Meet a Bear Monday

Good Evening to you all.....Well, what there is
left of it! I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving...
Hubby and I spent most of the day cutting down
trees! We spent 3 days working at our other house
and let me tell ya, I have the sore muscles to prove it!
I didn't have to cook, though a friend and neighbor
invited us to eat at their house that evening, boy
were we thankful for that! If you over indulged
you might be like the bear in the picture below...
her name is Uneeda Biggersize.....On the front of
her shirt is "Do These Make My Butt Look Big"....
You can't really tell in the picture how big her
belly is, it's bigger than her butt, maybe she should
worry about it instead! LOL.....

Tree in the yard in Texas....

I was surprised to see leaves on the trees
this late......We don't have much grass down
there, so we take some from here and plant
it when we go down, also pine trees. Maybe
when I move back, I will have a lot of grass....
I can only hope! My yard here has thick grass, I
wish the yard down there was like this one....
I got my Christmas swap package sent out
today, so tomorrow I start putting up the
Christmas tree and decorating the house....
Stop by again to see the tree, I will have
about 60 bears on it! Woo Hoo, I am going
to have a Beary Christmas! Got to get out
the Santa hats for the big bears.....

Until next time~

Woo Hoo, look what I found!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Woo Hoo, I am having a great weekend! I found
this chandelier at the fleamarket yesterday! I saw
one months ago and wanted to buy it, but DH didn't
like it, so I didn't get it. He didn't see the potential I
saw, he just saw "brass"...... Anyway, I showed him
Lisa's at "Prims from Above" so he could see what it
would like painted, so then he liked it. I didn't know
it when I bought it that it is by "Ethan Allen" made
of solid brass in Spain..... Boy is it heavy!....I only paid
.........Are ya ready????..............................

.............$20 for it!!! That included the dust!
It also has fancy cream colored shades that I
forgot about, so they aren't in the picture......
I was thinking of painting it a gray/pewter color,
then brushing black on it here and there to "antique"
it some......What do you all think? If I don't like that,
I can always paint it black. Anyone else have any
ideas? They had a simple one in Home Depot, that I
almost bought, but I thought it was too modern looking
for what I wanted, so I am glad I held out to find
something else. This guy had another one that was
bigger, that would have been used in a house with
cathedral ceilings....I don't know how much he wanted
for that one (I didn't ask), since it was too big, anyway.....
Well, I have too many things to do, so my make over
will have to wait a week.....

I forgot that I got an old basket full of large pinecones
to sit by the fireplace, so I will have to take a picture
of that and post it next time for you all to see....

Thanks for stopping by and hope you all are having a
great weekend!

Pictures Of My Home

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ *~*~
Good evening, friends....I thought I would post
some pictures of my living room since I can't post
about the crafts I am doing. I don't want my swap
partner to see them on here....Many of you know
that I collect Boyd's bears, and toys for them. I
love to display them all over the house! I know,
I know, that just means more things to dust....
I love this print I got a few years ago in an
antique mall I would like to find some more prints,
but I don't know where I would hang them.

I have shutters standing in the windows to keep

the sun from shining in from my van onto the

tv, this part of the living room used to be a garage.

Just ignore the dirty glass on the fireplace, I
know it needs cleaning on the inside, but I can't
remember to do it, until I see it in the picture. I
would like to take it off, or paint a fire screen
to cover it up. The print on the fireplace is a
Warren Kimble print that I got at the fleamarket
in Texas this summer....

In this part of the living room, the tape and bedding
job needs to be done over, who ever did it didn't do
a very good job! I will have to redo them one of these
days, but there is a lot of stuff to move to do it.....I
don't know if the paint that was left here, when we
moved in, is any good and I don't want to paint this
thing over....

These bears are in the original part of the living
room, across from them is an oak table that
big Bubba was sitting at before, then the little
cabinet we made is to the right of that. I will
take some more pictures of the living room
again, so you can see I have tree posts! Not
porch posts, tree posts in my house! The
guy who lived here before, loved the "Lodge"
look, I guess.

That's it for tonight, I need to get to bed! Thanks
for stopping by, I really appreciate the new friends
I have made, since I started this journey.....It has
been so much fun seeing what everybody else has
been up to, what they are making, how they are
decorating, what they are re-doing and all the
helpful hints. I know bloggers are a great bunch!!!

Thanks for making me welcome!

Last Post of Vacation Pictures

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Good Morning! I thought I would post these pictures
that I took from the plane on the way back from Oregon.
This one was taken not long after take off so I am sure it
is over Oregon...The pilot told us what states we would
be flying over.

I believe this is over Colorado, I think the mountains
are so pretty cover with snow. I have some of Utah,
but the rest of these pictures are so different, I thought
I would post them, instead.

I don't know where this is, I thought maybe New
Mexico....I am not sure....

Where ever this is, it looks awesome from the air!

These 3 pictures were all taken close to each
other.....Isn't this planet we live on beautiful?

That is all of the pictures of my vacation that I am
going to post, I think I better get to painting and
sewing so I can get my Christmas swap things done.
I sure have been busy the last 3 days, on other
things.
I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Oregon Pictures

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~**~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Hello, everyone! I thought I would post some more
pictures from Oregon, before I forget.....I thought this
tree was interesting, I don't know why it is twisted, I
think my sister told me, but I don't remember what it
was now....I slept too many times since! This is on a
camping area along the walking trail.

I hope you can read this, it is about a Western
Hemlock growing out of the top of a tree stump!
I haven't seen this kind of thing before, so I took
a picture of the sign and a picture of the nurse
stump, which is below, also.

It is amazing what Mother Nature can do?

Below is a picture of Foster Lake, close to
the town where my sister lives. I have been
on top of one of these mountains in a 4-wheel
drive vehicle before, what fun! I think I have
a picture of my Mom and I up there with the
lake behind us.

This is Mt. Washington, below....

This mountain is 3 Finger Jack, from the road,
of course......every time I could get the camera
ready, it would be behind trees....One time we
hiked up close to this mountain, it was a 5 mile
hike! My sister wanted to go on up to the glacier
and my other sister and I thought she was trying
to kills us! It was fun, though!

My next post will be of pictures that I took, from the
plane, of the beautiful planet we live on! Come on
back to see the pictures of Oregon, Idaho, Colorado,
maybe some of New Mexico from the air!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed
these sites as much as I did!

Until next time~

My Treasures

Good Morning! This is the picture of the stuff I
had to show you all yesterday, but it didn't want
to stay on here for some reason! Anyway, I bought
the two baskets and the John Sliney sign at Goodwill
for 99 cents each....On the way back from Texas, I
stopped in a couple towns and I looked around in
(I would say 10) shops and the only thing I bought
was the big jingle bell! I thought it would look cute
in a big wooden bowl with greenery. A steal at $3...
The basket in the back is signed on the inside of the
handle and has ('94) date it was made. Someone
sprayed the top of it white, but it really doesn't matter
since I will paint it, anyway. I got the cake cover on
Saturday at a yard sale for a whopping 50 cents.

Well, I need to check out the blogs and get to work,
I have a bunch of crafting to do for my Christmas swap
partner......I want her to really like what I make for
her....Ho Ho Ho.....Christmas will be here before we
know it! Time is flying by so fast!
Thanks for stopping by, if you didn't see my vacation
pictures click on the older posts, I posted some pretty
ones....
Have a great day~

I was gone again!

Hello Everyone, hope you all are having a great weekend!
I have been gone again, I had to go back to my house to get
my clothes and stuff I left there when I went out to Oregon.
I didn't get back down there because after I broke down, we
came back up here after the van was fixed. I thought I would
take a few minutes to show you all the things I got recently at
sales and shops.

I got this Rowe Pottery Pie dish for $3 at a yard sale
yesterday, the date on the back says 1988 also that it
is handcrafted. I thought that was a good price!

We bought this dresser and stand for $50....
The dresser also has a mirror in the house, I
didn't really care for the mirror, but will see
how it looks after I get it painted. I thought
I would paint them all black and put a new
shade on the stand to put by hubby's side of
the bed so he can put some of his books in
in the bottom. The bedroom is decorated
kind of Victorian and I would like to change it
over to a more "Prim" look. I know I don't have
time now to paint the bedroom before it gets cold,
but I did find a quilt in a shop in Mineola, TX that
I like. I will buy that when I go back down and then
decide on a paint color for the room. I have too much
furniture in the room, so I thought I would take the
entertainment center out and put the TV on the
dresser.

I had a picture of some stuff I bought at Goodwill
and some shops, but I was moving the picture down
and it is gone, so I will put it back on tomorrow.

I guess I better get back to work, I have lots to
do, besides that I want to catch up on the other blogs,
I sure miss it when I leave home. Yup, I am addicted!

Until next time~
