Some News..... And What I Have Been Working On

Well, so much for posting some
more dishes, I have something
else I want to show you all....
I have been working on some
stack boxes, the blue set is for a
friend over at Prim Pals, we are
doing a swap.

As you can tell with the lid up, I
coffee stained them. I dried them with
the hair dryer, so I left the lids on. I
was afraid the fabric hanging down from
the rims, would shrink and
I wouldn't be able to get the lids back
on, but I took one off and I got it back
on, so I will coffee stain the top edges
and do some spots on them.
I know Jan will like more grunge.

The ones on the right, are going to have
silhouettes on the lids.  I can't wait
to see how these are going to turn out!

I am opening a selling blog, next month!
So, if you want to be the first to know
when I post things for sale, go on over
and sign on to follow!  I am thinking of
giving something away, too!  Go on over,
what ya waiting for?  The name of my
selling blog is: The Prim Bear's Cupboard..
Watch for the opening, next month!

Until next time...

was way too much....
I have some goodies, that I bought
awhile back, to share with you all

Package In The Mail

Hey everyone, I thought I would
show you the doll, that I got in
the mail, over the weekend.  She is a
prairie doll that I bought from Denise

I put her on a white, child's chair,
but it was just too bright, so I opted
to put her on this larger, red chair...
I like her on this one, much better!
Denise has another cute one, with a
patriotic dress on, that is just darling!
Go on over to see what she has...Just
click on the link, above and tell her
Karen sent ya!

Until next time....

Old Rug Tool and Lime Squeezer

Hey everyone, I thought I would
show you all this lemon or lime
squeezer and an old rug hooking
tool, that I got this Fall...

A closer view...

I assume that you use yarn with this
tool....I would love to learn to do this, one
of these days....I think I will find me some
supplies and get started....I want to do
some needle punch, also.  I have a couple
books on rug hooking, so I just need to
find me a cutter to do the strips, since I
have been collecting wool, so I will have
some, to start with.
Well, that's it for today...I will show
you the cute doll, I got from Denise
at KKL Primitives, on my next post
and then I will show you all some more
of my dishes.

I want to thank you all for your
sweet comments, and for taking time
out of your day, to read my  blog.

Until next time....

Chum, here....

Chum, here....
Hello, to my Mommy's blogging
friends....I thought I would get on here
and show you just what a cat has to
go through around here!

First of all, it hard trying t o fit into
places that I used  to fit, months ago....
I do think Momm's keyboard got a
whole lot bigger, 'cause I used to fit
here, on this keyboard drawer, just
fine!

Then, if that isn't enough, something
happened, while I was laying around,
enjoying myself.

I go outside and find all this cold, white
stuff in my yard!  Brrrr, it was cold on
my toes!

I didn't know what to do, but sit under
the bird feeder! Thank goodness, my
Mommy took me right back into the
house, cause I don't like the cold or that
white stuff!

Daddy turned the gas heater on, in
the living room, so I can lay near it and
stay nice and warm!  Oh, the joys of
being a cat! Oh, before I go, I have to
say "Hi" to my fur buddy, Skippy!

Until next time....

More Of The Blues

Hello friends, I hope you all are
staying warm...It has sure been cold
here!  It was in the 20's all day,
yesterday and it got down to 14 deg.
last night....Brrrrr!  We got about
6 inches of snow over the weekend
and it is melting today, for it is up
in the higher 30's....Great!

I wanted to show you the other blue
and white dishes I have collected.

The lighter blue plate, is "Oriental
Garden"  is  by Myott Meakin  and
is made in Staffordshire, England.
The smaller, dark blue plate on the
upper right is a Bicentennial plate
awarded to Avon representatives,
made exclusively for Avon, by Enoch
Wedgewood.  I have found that there
is another one to go with this plate.
I came across a set of them, awhile
back, but I didn't want both of them
and they were being sold as a set, only.

I put the picture in twice, so you don't
have to scroll back so far, if you want
to keep taking a look at the picture.

The saucer below it, is "Royal Homes
of Britain"....I picked it up, where I got
the sugar and creamer to my set.
The next saucer to the left is, "Liberty
Blue" color, I assume, from the set
"Historic Colonial Scenes" and it has
"Old North Church" on it, also made
in England. The last dish on the left,
has a sticker label and was made in
Japan...

Above, you will see two demi-tasse cups,
I am sure I didn't spell that right....I found
6 of them, awhile back, but I didn't get them
because I bought these to use for putting a
single rose in.....Next to that, is a mustard
jar, I do believe it is from Germany, from
the writing on it. The cup next to that has
a windmill on it and it says "English
Ironstone"...I couldn't tell what town, but
it has England on it, also...Can you tell
that I like things from England? The
blue and white pitcher was made in Japan.

 Close up of the two....

I have quite a few white ironstone
pitchers, of different sizes....This is
something you can do with pitchers
and saucers.

Well, I hope you enjoyed seeing the rest
of my blue and white dishes. I do have a
tiny little pitcher, that didn't get in the
pictures, but I will make sure that it
gets in with my pitchers, when I show
you all, them.

Until next time....

I've Got The Blues! I'm Talking Dishes, That Is!

Gee, I can't believe that it has been
almost a week, since I last posted!
The time just flies by when you are
doing other things....I said that I would
start showing you all, some of my
collections,  so I will start with some
of the blue  and white dishes I have
gotten, so far.

Here is one setting of the dishes, called
"Historical Ports of England"....I got a few
plates, some cake plates, cups and saucers,
to start out with and I have been hunting
for them for about a year and a half, I
think.
I found the gravy boat in TX, then later,
some plates in TX....I got 4 cups in another
place in TX, then some plates and saucers
in Kansas, and the last things I found,
were the sugar and creamer, one has a
crack.....But, I don't care, these dishes
are hard to find!
So, far I have at least 8 of all the dishes,
except for the bread or dessert plate, which
I only have six....So, I will still be hunting
for them....Oh, the thrill of the hunt!  I have
decided to quit buying some of the things,
that I have collected.....Getting way too
much to dust!

This is the back of the plate, which has
"The port of Bristol"...

                                Close up of the plate....

The cup and saucer, has the "Port
of Hull" on it.

In this first picture, again, you will see
that cake or bread plate are the same
scene, the berry bowl only shows part
of it....They are both "Port of Plymouth."

I can tell that this gravy boat is really
old,and it has a different label on the
bottom, as do the berry bowls and the
sugar and creamer.
The newer ones have a ribbon across the
ship with the port name in it, where as the
older ones do not have the ribbon, the
port is written under the ship. I have a few
more blue and white dishes, that do not
go with the set, but I liked them....I will
show you them, on the next post.

We got several inches of snow and Chum
didn't know what to think about it!  He
went out and huddled under the bird
feeder.  He does not like the cold, if he
goes out and it is cold, he wants back in
and he is not too fond of the snow, either.
He was just out when hubby was filling
the bird feeder and he was scratching on
the windows of the French doors, wanting
back in the house.

I hope you all are careful if you have to
go out in the snow and ice.  We have some
ice under the snow and I am staying home.

Until next time....

More Treasures To Share

Good Evening....

I have some more things to share with
you all....I bought this Santa when
went shopping in TX, last month, and
I got the candle holder in an antique
mall, here in Oklahoma....I am going
to take the glass votive out of it....

I also got this gingerbread man and
the swan at the same place.  I took the
raffia off of it and put it in a trencher.
I plan on putting red pip berries around
it....I think that will look good! I will
have to take a picture of it, when
I get it done.

I am still putting Christmas things away
and I have been cleaning my computer/
craft room, I could barely get around in
here, for all the stuff!   Well, I need to
keep at it, for I am on a mission!

Until next time....

A Make Over

Happy New Year!
I do hope that everyone had a
great weekend!
I got almost all of the Christmas
decorations packed away today, for
another year.  It seems unreal that we
are in the year 2011, already!

I thought I would show you all the
chair that I painted awhile back.
Here it is before....

I love the shape of this chair, but I
am not into white, chippy paint,
so I painted it black and I didn't
like the shine on it, so I dry brushed
the red, from the hutch on it...

I distressed it a little and I like it
much better.  How about you?

I have a bread box, that I painted
black and distressed, that I will sell,
if anyone is interested....I will post
it, soon....You can e-mail me about
it, if you would like.

I am going to get to painting and
sewing, very soon and I will be
starting  up a selling blog, so be
watching for that, in the future.
I will also be selling things that I
no longer want, and things I  have
made over.

I am on a mission to get rid of things,
and what better way to get rid of it,
than to sell it to my prim friends?

Until next time, my friends...
