Changing Tables

Good evening to my blogging friends...
I have been pretty busy, this past
week, getting ready for company. We
really enjoyed having them here, for
the weekend!  My family is spread
out, all over the USA, so it is so good
to get together, when some of us can.
I have to tell ya that I have the best
brother in the world! He took an old
table, that I had and made it bigger
and put a new top on it!  It turned out
fantastic!

This is my dining room table, that I
had been using....We moved it into the
living room and I put a throw on it,
because Chum thinks it is his, to sleep on.

Here are the old legs, from the table,
that I had in Texas, with the new top!
It is about the same size, as the round
one, with two leaves in it, but it is so
sturdy!  I am going to paint the frame
and the legs, black....

He put edges on it, like an old cutting
board, just like I wanted and he even
put pegs through them, into the
table top...I love this table, so much and
he did a fantastic job on it, just for his
baby sister.  He is the best brother, that
any gal, could ask for!  He probably
won't see this, but thank you, big
brother, you are the best!

I hope you all are safe, I know there were
tornadoes, last night....We were under a
watch, during the night...I have a noaa
weather radio, now I can go to bed, when
there is bad weather, knowing that it will
warn me if a watch changes to a warning.
It about scares it out of ya, when it goes
off, while you are sleeping, but it's worth
the peace of mind.  I used to stay up, half
the night, when there were storms...Now
I don't have to....Check into them, I have
one that has a battery back up.

Well, that is all for tonight....Thanks
for stopping by!

Treasures In The Mail

Hey everyone, I hope you all are
having a great weekend and that
it has warmed up, where you are.
It is supposed to be in the low 60's
today and get warmer as the week
goes on!  Yippeeeee, the last of the
snow, just melted off, yesterday...

I thought I would show you all
what I bought from Jody of Primgal's
Primitive Pallette.....

I bought the tissue box cover and
she sent me this cute bar of
soap, that she painted, as a freebie!
Thanks, Jody! Click here to go on
over and check out all her wonderful
painted and prim  items.

Well, I have some things to work on,
it is taking me a lot longer to get
the things done for my selling blog,
than planned.....So, off to work, I go!

New Treasures

Hey everyone, I thought I would
show you all the prairie doll and
a wooden treasure I got, last week,
on the way to Texas.

She is huge! I measured her, after I
got home and she is about 28" from
head to foot and about 38" from the
top of her bonnet to the bottom of her
dress.  There is a smudge on her dress,
that looks like it might be paint, but
I'm planning on making her an apron, to
cover it up and I will be taking off a
lot of the lace, on her dress....

I found this long scoop to hang on the
wall, but I don't know if I will put a
candle in it, or paint it and put it on
my selling blog, when I get it started
up....

Well, I need to get to work on some
thing, I haven gotten much done,
since I got home.

I hope you all are staying safe and
warm...Thanks for stopping by

Until next time...

Blues Around The House

Hey everyone, I didn't get time
to post more of the blues around
the house, before I left for Texas,
so here they are....

All the pitchers, above are sitting on a
shelf, above the French doors, that needs
to be painted. I haven't decided what
color I want to paint the trim, so it is
has to wait until I paint the trim. The
guy who put the trim up, put some kind
of filler over the nail heads, but didn't
paint over them, so they show as
smudges in the pictures...GGGRRR!

I cropped the picture, above and it
cut off an aqua colored cup, on the right.
These are arranged like this, normally,
I put some from the lower shelves on top
for the picture.

My Mom gave me the Pepsi
thermometer about 15 yrs ago,
she had it hanging outside, on a tree.

The large crock was shipped to me,
all the way from Germany, it's a
Westerward.

I bought this little pie plate in Kansas,
when we went up to my brother's for
Thanksgiving.

I am more of a "red" person, than a
"blue" but those blue treasures, just keep
sneaking in! So, if you haven't shown
your "blues"...
What ya waiting for?

Until next time...

Treasures From Lorna

Hey everyone, I just have to share with
you all the goodies that Lorna gave me!
She is such a sweetie, and so much fun
to be with!

She made me the cutest prairie doll,
this jar, with material around it and
a label, for my kitchen, and the most
awesome smelling pantry cakes!  I
love it all, Lorna!  I consider these
"treasures from a treasured friend"
I am going to put the pantry
cakes on the big cutting board
on the stove top....I need to paint and
finish my shoo fly screen, so I can put
it over top of them....Can't wait....I had
so much fun with Lorna, I wish the
weather hadn't turned so bad, because
we could have had a few days of fun!

I would like to thank everyone that
have left me comments, I appreciate
every one of them!

Well, that is it, for tonight.....I will
post more of the "blues" on my next
post.....Until then, take care and stay
warm!

Fun Times!

Hello everyone, I just got back from
Texas, last night....I went down on
Monday with plans on meeting with
Melissa of "MsPrimNCountry" and
Lorna of "Live Oak Primitive
Peddler"......Well, let me tell ya that
I think there was a conspiracy going
on to keep me from being able to meet
them!  It was about  73 degrees on
Monday that night, it rained and then
we had freezing rain and sleet. I stayed
in the house on Tuesday and Wednesday
I ventured out to visit some neighbors,
plus go to town.....Lorna and I were going
to meet on Tuesday, well we postponed
it until Wednesday and then it was so cold,
we decided to meet on Friday.....Then we
found out it was going to snow!  It was in
the teens at night and 20's during the day.
I talked to Melissa, to meet with her on
Thursday and her family still had the flu!
So, I called Lorna and I headed out on
Thursday....I was an hour later, than I was
going to be, because something came up,
but I was determined to get there, even if
I had to put skis on the van!  Well, I made
it and we only got to shop at one antique
place, but we both got some great stuff!

Here are all the goodies, that we got and
we had so much fun!  We laughed and
laughed and laughed!  I got the things
on the left and Lorna got the things on
the right side....These little cuties are
Lorna's granddaughters, prim decoraters
in the making!  They love how grandma
decorates her home, so I am sure they will
be collecting prims when they grow up.
Go on over to Lorna's to read more about
our short adventure!  I will have to make
another trip to Texas, as soon as it warms
up, so Melissa and I can meet up and have
some fun!  It may sound like nothing to be
in the teens and twenties, but for TX, that
is cold, in fact, they say it is the coldest it
has been for 15 or 16 years!  Brrrrr....I
can't wait until it warms up!  It snowed
last night, and we have several inches, so
it is a good thing I came on home...I don't
like being out on the road at night, but I
got home a little past 7:30, so it wasn't too
bad and there wasn't much traffic......

Well, I didn't get time to post before I
left.....I had a little disaster!  I bumped
the cutting board on the counter, it in turn
knocked off a big storage jar full of flour,
a jar of popcorn and a cookie jar, full of
cookie cutters off the back of the counter!
They hit my two big crocks and one of them
broke, along with the jar of flour and the
cookie jar!  The flour jar fell into the big
crock, it broke out a hunk from the side
of it and also put a hole in the bottom...
It just made me sick!  I just got that big
crock, this Fall.....I guess I will glue the
big hunk back in it and just keep it....Well,
I better get to crafting, since I haven't been
able to do any, all week.  I didn't take any
thing to work on, because I figured I would
be gone all the time, having fun!

Lorna gave me some wonderful things,
so I will post them, soon!  She is such a
sweetie, I just love her and I am looking
forward to having more visits, with her.

Until next time...
