Hey everyone, I thought I would
share with you all, the Hires mug
that my hubby got quite awhile ago,
and the tray I bought, the last time I
went back to Texas....That was when
I met up with Lorna.
I think the tray is old and we were told,
that the mug, is really old. It does have
a handle on it, you just can't see it. Most
mugs or cups, have the writing, facing
you when you hold the mug, but not this
one, it is opposite the handle.
I have some other things to show you,
but it will have to wait, I haven't
taken pictures of it all, for it's packed
up....Maybe, next time and I want to
show you some more of my collections.
Welcome to my new followers, I prefer
to call you "new friends!"
Until next time....

Hi Karen
ReplyDeleteMy hubby has a nice collection of old root beer mugs and he has one just like your Hires mug. He said they made the mugs out of stoneware from the 1920's to the 1940's. That particular one is worth $55.00
Love the tray. He couldn't find the wooden tray in his books at all. I saw a couple on line though http://hiresrootbeer.net/nice-wooden-etched-hires-root-beer-bottle-serving-tray/ and http://cgi.ebay.com/hires-rootbeer-wood-serving-tray-/120692375021 although they don't give any info about year it was made.
